What is HomeAway's policy on surveillance devices at a property?
Surveillance devices at a property must get used for security purposes only. This applies to any surveillance device that the partner has access to, owns, and/or operates. Any data captured on these devices should get erased/deleted when it is no longer necessary. Devices cannot get used to capture any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) inside the home or property. This includes any data or content that could get used to distinguish or trace someone's identity.
Surveillance or capture of any content is not allowed by users of the HomeAway platform without the other's knowledge or consent. Devices must have their physical location noted on the listing. This includes the coverage area. Coverage area is considered the physical area getting captured. It also includes the digital information that the device can capture and/or record. Consent includes any agreement between partners and travelers through the HomeAway platform.
