What is Damage Protection?
Damage Protection is an insurance product that provides coverage to travelers that can help them protect themselves from additional expenses should accidental damage occur to a rental property during their stay.

The Damage Protection Plan provides coverage for accidental damage to the rental home that can include: broken lamps, windows and glass, electronics, damaged doors, walls and furniture, stained bedding or linens, lost keys and re-keying costs. Why should I purchase Damage Protection?
While no one expects to damage a rental property, accidents do happen. Damage Protection is recommended if you are traveling with children, pets, or in a group. It is also recommend if you are spending a significant amount on a luxury rental or extended stay.

Does the Damage Protection plan provide coverage for damage caused by pets?
The plan can provide coverage for damage caused by pets, as long as having pets at the rental is permitted by the vacation rental owner or property manager. Pet damage is not covered if the pet's presence in the rental violates the rental agreement.

Does the Damage Protection plan provide coverage for theft?
There is coverage under the plan for theft caused by any person other than anyone staying at the reservation if the theft is substantiated by a police report. As the Damage Protection does not cover intentional acts, coverage would not be afforded if you intentionally take something from the vacation rental property.
 
If a vacation rental owner or property manager has charged a security deposit, should I still purchase Damage Protection?
Damage Protection may be a wise choice if you are concerned about accidental damage occurring during your stay. By paying a small fee for Damage Protection you can safeguard your security deposit refund. Should accidental damage occur during your stay, you go through an easy claims process to receive the security deposit refund. 
 
How does the claims process work?
You would be notified of the damage by the rental owner or manager, or you would realize you have caused unintentional damage to the property. In both instances you would file a claim with CSA Travel Protection by filling out a claim form, providing the required documentation, and submitting it to the CSA claims department.

What if I cancel my reservation after I've purchased Property Damage insurance?
After cancelling your reservation you would call CSA at (888) 501-3025 to cancel your Damage Protection plan. You must call prior to the date you are scheduled to arrive at the rental property to receive a refund.
