The Carefree Rental Guarantee reduces concerns potential guests might have about vacation rentals. Travelers can purchase it as an option via the Reservation Manager™ payment page. The guarantee provides up to $10,000 in protection if the property is significantly not as described, guests cannot access the property, their refundable damage deposit is wrongfully withheld, or their payment is stolen as a result of Internet fraud.

Offering the Carefree Rental Guarantee conveys that you and HomeAway stand behind your property. The Carefree Rental Guarantee reduces concerns potential guests might have about vacation rentals, provides peace of mind that their rental will be as described, and protects rental payments up to $10,000.

Does Carefree Rental Guarantee cost me money?
No, the Carefree Rental Guarantee does not cost you anything. Travelers pay a small fee (~2%) of the amount of protection they’d like to purchase.

How do I offer the Carefree Rental Guarantee from ReservationManager?
If you already use ReservationManager, you do not need to do anything. The Carefree Rental Guarantee will automatically be included as an option on the ReservationManager payments page.

If you do not yet use ReservationManager, set up your account by following the instructions below:
1. Log into your account.
2. Click Payments on the left side of the page.
3. Click Get Started Now.
4. Enter your contact information and click Next. (The system will not accept PO boxes.)
5. Enter your property information. All of your properties will be enabled for online payments, but only one is used for the setup process. Click Next.
6. View your payment method information. Click Next.
7. Enter your deposit information. Your account must be with a US bank, and the account number must include all leading zeroes.
8. Review the Terms and Conditions and then check the box to agree.
9. Click Submit.

How do I remove the Carefree Rental Guarantee from ReservationManager?
To remove the Carefree Rental Guarantee from ReservationManager:
1. Log into your account.
2. Click Settings on the left side of the page.
3. Click Products Settings.
4. Select “No, do not offer this to my guests.”
